Presenting our 2nd annual tribute to comic art in memory of a great Edmontonian booster of the comics medium. In 2009, the concept of the show was purely open to interpretation. Beginning this year we will be moving through the various aspects of comic art starting with arguably the most impactful part, the cover. That eye catching, thought provoking, sometimes groundbreaking piece of art that captures a fan's eye forcing them pick up the book and look inside!
The show is free to attend for everyone with an opening evening celebration on Friday, November 19 at 7 pm. That evening you'll have a chance to meet and greet this year's contributor's and we'll also hear from some special guests.
The show was dedicated to our friend Gilbert Bouchard who passed away in 2009. His good friend Suzette Chan and CBC co-worker Peter Brown shared wonderful memories at the inagural show last year that allowed those of us who knew Gilbert to smile at his memory and those of us who didn't, feel a little closer to him.
More history behind the origin of the show can be found in this article run in the University of Alberta's newspaper, The Gateway.
