A first-of-a-kind Art Show in Edmonton
Oct 18 to 30, 2009
Premiere night, Oct 17, 2009
Thanks to all of those who attended the premiere of our first annual comics themed art show. A wonderfully healthy crowd took part in some great conversation with our attending artist guests; Kyle Kohls-Wiebe, Jeff Martin, Ana Alcantara, Naomi Cooper, Richard Grzela, Andrew Foley, Angela Rout and Scott Kowalchuk, while enjoying complimentary wine and cheese and even purchashing a few of the pieces.
Photos of the artwork can be seen here!
The show was dedicated to our friend Gilbert Bouchard who passed away eariler this year and his good friend Suzette Chan and CBC co-worker Peter Brown shared wonderful memories that allowed those of us who knew Gilbert to smile at his memory and those of us who didn't, feel a little closer to him. The full version of each of their speeches can be found on the Gilbert Bouchard tribute Facebook page HERE.
More history behnd the origin of the show can be found in this article run in the University of Alberta's newspaper, The Gateway. We encourage everyone to drop by HHv1 during the run of the exhibit to see the pieces created by those listed above and the others; Brian Guay, Brent Smith, Bob Prodor, Fiona Staples, Nick Johnson and Joanne Wojtsiak. Thanks to all of them for sharing their inspiration and passion for comics!

Doors open at 7 pm; Dedication begins at 8:15
