Happy Harbor Comics, Edmonton’s largest and only award-winning comics retailer, strives to play an active role our community. Our Scotch Tasting events play a significant part in that initiative by raising funds and support for local organizations and important causes.

Join Eric Paul who will take the tasting attendees and aficionados on an engaging whisky fueled tour through the intriguing stories and histories of the Scottish whisky industry and its many interesting characters leading up to and throughout World War II.

With an experienced passion and an anthropologically informed whisky knowledge, Eric Paul aka. The Whisky Detective, takes whisky and premium spirits education to new heights with his engaging and innovative approach. Combining his education in Ethnography, field studies on spirits, tours of the whisky and premium spirits worlds of North America, Europe and Africa and a decade working in the Liquor industry, Eric Paul presents spirits tastings with a knowledgeable and contagious fervour.

Supporting Valour Place

Our upcoming event will support Valour Place Military Family Support House, a temporary home for all Canadian Forces members, Families of the Fallen, Veterans, and RCMP, along with their families who require medical treatment in Edmonton and live outside the city/area. Valour Place is sustained through long term leases, endowment income, donations, and special events like ours.

We’ve been hosting these charity events for 6 years and they continue to grow, combining a tasting of premier scotch selections hosted by local scotch experts with an auction of unique items generously donated by local businesses and organizations. Cash, debit, and credit payments are accepted and cash back options are available during the event, so there’s no need to hold back with your bids! 100% of all Auction proceeds go directly to Valour Place, as well as 80% of ticket sales. Our previous fundraising events have raised more than $30,000 in support of Cancer Research and STARS Air Ambulance.
