All work completed at either host site will be copied and sent to the 24 HR people for review for publication. In 2005, 24 interesting stories chosen from the hundreds created during that year's 24 Hour Comics Day were published in "24 Hour Comics Day Highlights 2005", a big, thick, spider-womper of a volume packed with energetic, improvisational comics.
In Edmonton, we will produce our own book, regardless if any submissions qualify for the the 2006 Highlights, so your work will be published (just like in 2005)! We will also be collecting donations for the Alberta Literacy Foundation as an entry fee for participating. Our goal is to surpass last year's $1600 so while we won't ask for a minimum per person, we want everyone to pound the pavement and get donations! To sweeten the deal, HH Edmonton will donate $0.25 for every dollar raised IF the total from participants is over $1600! If it's under, HH will donate $0.10 for every dollar.
Let your talents help others in need. Raise funds for literacy programs across Alberta and have a great time doing it in one of the best environments in the world! Please keep checking back and let your friends know what's happening. It's an amazing experience that you'll never forget!
